Introduction to Wild Swimming – Driotwich

June 13 @ 11:00 am1:30 pm
£35

This two and a half hour induction consists of a theory session followed by a cold dip or swim.  The theory part focuses on the benefits of wild swimming for your mental and physical health, as well and tips and techniques for making your dip as enjoyable and safe as possible. You will learn about the physical processes that your body goes through during cold water immersion and the re-warm afterwards.

There’s also information about the equipment that you might need as you progress through the winter months. You can talk to us about any concerns you might have, and that can be anything from nerves to accessibility issues.

Then, there is a lifeguarded swim/cold dip session, which can be as much or as little as you like.  The lake is very welcoming and safe. There is an easy ramp for entry and exit, and you are never far from the shallow banks around the lake’s edge.

This session is suitable for complete newbies to wild swimming (although you must be able to competently swim 100m out of your depth) or those looking for a recap.
The cost is £35 – and includes complimentary tea and cake afterwards.

Go on… give it a try – you won’t regret it!!
