Floating Soundbath – Llantwit Major

Float. Listen. Let go. In a castle of all places.
St Donat’s Castle has seen a lot in its lifetime, but probably not many people floating peacefully on water while gongs echo around its walls. The moment you walk into UWC Atlantic, the atmosphere changes. Old stone, quiet corridors, and the gentle warmth of the pool create a setting that does half the calming for you.
This floating soundbath brings together the depth of the gong, the heartbeat of the drum, the shimmer of Himalayan singing bowls and Freenotes Wings, all while you lie back on water supported by a soft airbed. Because sound travels through water far more efficiently than air, you feel the vibration through your whole body. It is somatic, soothing, and strangely grounding, even though you are floating.
If you ever wanted your nervous system to relax before you even start, this is the place.
🌊 What You Will Experience
Gong vibrations rolling through the pool like distant thunder
The drum easing your breath into a slow, steady rhythm
Himalayan bowls and Freenotes Wings adding soft, spacious tones
The unique calm that comes from floating, weightless, while sound moves through fascia and fluid
The castle setting adds something extra. Not magic in the sparkly sense, more in the atmospheric sense. Old buildings know how to hold silence very well.
