Gong Bath with Tom Shanti – Shrewsbury

September 12 @ 6:00 pm7:15 pm
£20

The Gong Meditation, also known as a Gong Bath, is a powerful form of Sound Healing.

At its heart is the sound and vibration of the gong, known as the sound of total resonance. The gong works as a tool to balance the physical body, mind, emotions, energetic body and spirit, offering a sonic massage that helps to stimulate circulation, activate the parasympathetic nervous system, slow brainwaves into meditative states, release emotional ‘burdens’, clear energetic debris and expand awareness.

Tom will use Symphonic and Wind Gongs alongside Himalayan singing bowls to create a transformational space for deep release at a cellular, energetic and psychological level. Many sound healers consider Gong Meditation to be one of the most powerful forms of Sound Healing.

Gong baths are a form of inactive meditation, where you ‘bathe’ in the healing vibrations of sound. Using sound as healing dates back to ancient cultures, with records of gongs found in Ancient Egyptian, Greek and Roman times. This practice is designed to offer deep relaxation, emotional release and pain relief.

Please bring a blanket to stay warm and cosy, a yoga mat or comfortable mat to lie on, and an eye pillow if you wish.

Opening and closing chants are offered to create and close the sacred space, often in Sanskrit and inspired by the Vedic tradition.
