‘Retreat like it’s 1999!®’ – 4 Day Digital Detox Retreat – Sedbergh

Join us for a tech-free weekend in beautiful Cumbria this October.
Take a much-needed break from endless scrolling, social media overwhelm, and the constant pull on your attention.
Unplug from the noise and give yourself space to reconnect.
With yourself, with the surrounding nature, and with your fellow retreaters.
Set against views of the rolling Howgill Fells, October is the perfect time to slow down and embrace a gentler rhythm. As autumn settles across the landscape, enjoy crisp mornings, rich seasonal colours, and evenings that invite you to curl up and unwind by the fire place.
Trade notifications for open skies and uninterrupted conversations. Watch the sun set over the hill as the day slowly gives way to dusk.
Connect with people in real life rather than through a screen. Share stories, laugh, learn something new, put the world to rights, or simply find a cozy nook and enjoy your own company. There’s no pressure and no agenda. Join in when you want to or step away from the chatter and embrace the stillness.
Why not bring a book you’ve always wanted to read, or finally finish one that’s been sitting on your shelf for months?
Maybe even revisit a childhood favourite.
Without the distractions of technology, you can fully immerse yourself in the simple pleasure of reading, resting, and being present, guilt-free.
This retreat is designed to nourish both body and soul.
As this is a digital detox retreat, we ask that devices are kept in your room throughout the weekend. If you prefer, we’re also happy to securely store your device for you, allowing you to fully switch off and enjoy the experience.
Over the weekend you will enjoy:
🧘🏻♀️ 2 daily sessions of yoga, breath work and meditation to help you quieten the mind.
Our sessions welcome complete beginners and experienced practitioners alike.
🥾 Beautiful walks to explore the stunning Cumbrian countryside on our doorstep that will allow you to reconnect with nature. Mindfulness at its best!
🎶 Immersive sound bath. Lie back and let the tones of the Crystal & Tibetan singing bowls wash over you. A deeply restorative experience & the ultimate relaxation aiming to reset the nervous system & slow down the production of stress hormones.
❄️ For the more adventurous, there is the possibility of cold water dipping nearby which has a variety of health benefits, including boosting your immune system and jump starting your metabolism.
⏳ Time to rest, connect and simply be. Everyday will include periods of free time so you can enjoy the garden, curl up with a book or simply day dream!
🍽️ Delicious wholesome plant based meals. Tea, biscuits & fruits are available throughout the day.
🌠 On the last evening we will stargaze by the fire pit, hot chocolate in hand. [weather permitting].

Meet the team:
* Florence Achery will be your host and will hold space.
She will also hold a sound bath on the Saturday evening.
Florence is a sound healer from London. She graduated from the College Of Sound Healing and works with 432hz crystal singing bowls and Tibetan singing bowls.
Sound healing is incredibly powerful. It enables you to fully switch off and let go of the “monkey chatter“. It is known to help with anxiety, insomnia, stress and can rebalance the nervous system and heal on a deep cellular level.
** Kate Holly will be your yoga teacher.
“I’ve been practicing Yoga for over 30 years, but I still remember the exact moment it clicked. As a 16-year-old navigating panic attacks, I stepped into a community yoga class and found an immediate sense of belonging and mental clarity, along with my breath.
Today, I turn that decades-long passion into a professional practice. After qualifying with a British Wheel of Yoga Level 4 Diploma (2012) and specializing as a Yoga Therapist (2022), I work with public classes, community groups and 1:1 clients to bridge the gap between physical movement and mental well-being.
When I’m not on the mat, I’m usually drawn to the water and the wild. You can find me paddling on Wales’ beautiful reservoirs and rivers—even teaching SUP Yogawhen the season allows—walking the Welsh hills, or taking a dip in an icy cold waterfall.
Yoga has been my anchor through thick and thin, and it is my privilege to share its life-enhancing benefits with you.”
‘Yoga is the technology of upgrading, activating and refining your inner energies for the ultimate possibilities’. Sadhguru.
